More Panoramics
I have always liked panoramic images; anything with an aspect ratio of 1.6:1 or greater catches my eye for some reason. This is why I LOVE shooting with my Fuji GX617 camera whose 6x17cm images have an aspect ratio of 2.8:1 We took a drive up the Pacific Coast to Monterey, CA about a week [...]

Panoramic!
We recently went out for a drive along the coast in San Pedro/Palos Verdes and stopped along the way to take some photos. This was a good way to test the Fuji GX617 Panoramic camera and get some fresh air at the same time I always like to stop by the Korean Friendship Bell and [...]

New Telescope Installed
The new telescope has arrived and I was able to install it in the Observatory last night. It’s a Celestron C14 Schmidt Cassegrain mounted atop my Paramount GT-1100 german equatorial mount. I decided to get a large instrument to use for visual observing in the summer months and this seemed like the best balance between [...]

Delicate Arch
This is one of my favorite places to photograph and is well worth the steep hike I had the benefit of beautiful puffy clouds on this occasion and I can’t wait to go back there again soon. -Leo

Solar Rainbow
We were camping out at the Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, CA and as the sun was setting my friend Jim noticed an interesting artifact that the sun made behind the hills. I used a polarizing filter on the lens to help intensify the the effect. If you happen to know what this phenomenon is [...]

The Fins
Here’s a recent scan I did to test a newly acquired drums scanner I recently picked up on the used market. The picture itself was taken back in early 2010. The image was made on a Toyo 8×10 field camera with a 210mm lens. As you can tell from the way I cropped the image [...]

Star Trail at the Racetrack
I spent a solitary evening camping out at the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley back in December 2010. I set up a couple of cameras on the playa and let them shoot for several hours. One camera was a Canon 5D2 Digital SLR with a 15mm fisheye lens. I shot a series of 2.5minutes long [...]
